SR - STITCHING A STORY COLLAGE With April Sproule
Join April Sproule for an exploration of hand stitched stories on fabric that will bring a special memory to life. You will experiment and play with: Hand embroidery and/or free motion stitching; strip weaving; sheer overlays; stamping and inking; mounting your work. You will be working on a small piece in class, finishing at 9" x 12", so several techniques will be covered. However, you can work larger if you like. Think about some of the favorite things, people, places, or events in your life that have been very meaningful to you.
You can do more than make a pretty picture, you can create something that resonates deeply with you or someone special to you. Or, you can include some of your favorite things that just make you happy! What could be better than that? There are lots of options for what you can include in your piece, so start collecting those images, mementos, trims, ribbons, buttons, or whatever else catches your fancy.
